[25 May 2006] Freshmen Orientation and Induction Night
I can't believe it... this day is over.

Yesterday, I had the strongest urge to drown myself in alcohol. Why? Because I felt that today's orsem was going to suck. Solicitation didn't go well, buddy system still wasn't fixed, our speaker was backing out at the last minute, and the primer wasn't done yet. And I am to blame. Biruin mo... unang event pa lang... and I already broke down. I already screwed up. Why I decided to run for chair and not stick to the original plan of running for vice chair internals, I have no idea. Why people voted for me, I have no idea.

I must be crazy. Oh, they must be crazy, too. That's probably it.

Surprisingly, freshmen orientation didn't turn out as bad as I expected. A lot of our freshmen came. The council got lots of help from the other PH students. The freshmen, not to mention, the USC; seemed to have fun during group dynamics. Our guest speaker came. All the PH orgs participated in the orsem. USC Chairperson Terry and Nickson from AK went easy on our freshies. In short, it went okay.

But at the end of it all, I still felt the need to get myself drunk . LOL.

We just have to learn from our mistakes, I guess. Have to do better on the next event. Else, I will punish myself.

[PLUG] Got newspapers stacked somewhere in your house? Want to get rid of your old phone directories? Tired looking at your old trans? Donate 'em all to the CPH Student Council!

Congratulations to Steph, Nestle, and Jake of Batch 22, the new members of the UP Manila Chorale!!!!!! It's about time those guys got inducted! Those three were the most promising trainees, in my opinion. And now that we have them as new members... that makes me an old member already. Geez. Yahoo, I get to have taray rights (a.k.a. Minette rights? Kidding.)!!! I wonder if I can pull that off, hahaha.

Tonight's blooper: "Steph, we're not asking you to give everything up for Chorale. We just want you to learn how to prioritize your... priorities."

Where did the serious atmosphere go??? Steph went from crying to suppressed laughing.

How I got assigned to facilitate one of the serious stations during induction night, I have no idea as well. Hehehehe. They're crazy too!

[10 May 2006] One of the best days
And again...

Nobody can possibly be happier than me today...

I didn't think it was possible to be more than super happy. I couldn't get this smile of my face even up to now. Hehehehe.

UPLB trip.
Rehearsal.
NMAT score.
Ehem.

Hehehehe. I love this day!

[04 May 2006] Missing the old sound
Yesterday, it was Sir Nikos' birthday (belated HBD, Sir!!!), and the Chorale planned a surprise for him. Most of us didn't greet him when we got there, and I bet he got annoyed at the start of rehearsal coz he was lecturing us again and all. Anyway, it was while we were singing the last song for the night when we turned off the lights, and Mitch came in with a cake and a single candle lit. But before she reached Sir, the light went out, so we had to open the light. Hehehe!

Anyway, it was a fun night. What made it really fun was that there were so many people who attended yesterday, and that before we went home, Steph, Sab, Minette, Ate Prec, Ate Pincha, Greg, Kuya Jon, Jake, Heinz, Jean and I had this short jamming session at the elevator lobby of PGH. Except for Ate Pincha and Jean, the rest were part of the touring group last summer. After singing, I can only say that I definitely miss the tour... I miss the group... I miss the old sound. Although Sir Nikos has been telling us lately that the Chorale is already producing a very good sound, compared before, the feeling that I had yesterday when our small group was singing was soooo different. I loved the sound. We make a good group. The harmony, the balance... aaah, great. And we were just singing there, not caring if people are passing by.

Kala mo nasa piazza uli, ba!

[01 May 2006] Nerd!!!
My first nerdy moment for this day happened very early today, as in about 1 something in the morning. We got home from Baguio at about 12:30 am, so after I rested for a while, took a bath and got dressed, I went back to the bathroom and was supposed to brush my teeth. But upon removing the cover and looking at the toothbrush, which I haven't used in a few weeks, I found raised green dots in clusters on the bristles of my toothbrush. Any normal person would have been grossed out at the site of that. But noooooo... after looking at it, I paused for a while... and identified it as fungi. Then, I tried to identify what kind it was and thought of how it got there. It was Aspergillus sp. The toothbrush, in the state where I last left it, must have presented favorable conditions for the fungi. Moisture was sealed due to the cover, and... disgusting as it sounds, I must have not cleaned the toothbrush properly after using it. And so I brushed my teeth using my clean toothbrush found in the kitchen.

Then, at about lunch time, a friend of mine texted me to ask what the other etioligic agents of loose rice watery stools are, other than Vibreo sp. I told him that as far as I can remember, 'rice stools' is a distinct symptom of Vibreo cholerae infection, but it may be possible that he is harboring E. coli (the bacteria, not amoeba) inside his GIT. He said it must be ETEC or EHEC. I told him that choosing from the 2, it must be Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) because it causes watery diarrhea, and Enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) causes bloody ones.

And now, I'm doing homework, basically because it's required. But I am going to make a written report on medicinal plants, a slogan and poster about the Philippine Eagle, and more...

I wonder if I'm going to get any more nerdy later this day?
