[25 May 2006] Freshmen Orientation and Induction Night |
I can't believe it... this day is over. Yesterday, I had the strongest urge to drown myself in alcohol. Why? Because I felt that today's orsem was going to suck. Solicitation didn't go well, buddy system still wasn't fixed, our speaker was backing out at the last minute, and the primer wasn't done yet. And I am to blame. Biruin mo... unang event pa lang... and I already broke down. I already screwed up. Why I decided to run for chair and not stick to the original plan of running for vice chair internals, I have no idea. Why people voted for me, I have no idea. I must be crazy. Oh, they must be crazy, too. That's probably it. Surprisingly, freshmen orientation didn't turn out as bad as I expected. A lot of our freshmen came. The council got lots of help from the other PH students. The freshmen, not to mention, the USC; seemed to have fun during group dynamics. Our guest speaker came. All the PH orgs participated in the orsem. USC Chairperson Terry and Nickson from AK went easy on our freshies. In short, it went okay. But at the end of it all, I still felt the need to get myself drunk . LOL. We just have to learn from our mistakes, I guess. Have to do better on the next event. Else, I will punish myself. [PLUG] Got newspapers stacked somewhere in your house? Want to get rid of your old phone directories? Tired looking at your old trans? Donate 'em all to the CPH Student Council! Congratulations to Steph, Nestle, and Jake of Batch 22, the new members of the UP Manila Chorale!!!!!! It's about time those guys got inducted! Those three were the most promising trainees, in my opinion. And now that we have them as new members... that makes me an old member already. Geez. Yahoo, I get to have taray rights (a.k.a. Minette rights? Kidding.)!!! I wonder if I can pull that off, hahaha. Tonight's blooper: "Steph, we're not asking you to give everything up for Chorale. We just want you to learn how to prioritize your... priorities." Where did the serious atmosphere go??? Steph went from crying to suppressed laughing. How I got assigned to facilitate one of the serious stations during induction night, I have no idea as well. Hehehehe. They're crazy too! |
