[31 December 2005] Mores and Lesses for 2006
In less than an hour, the Earth is about to orbit around the Sun again for the nth gazillion time...

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Usually, I don't make a resolution for New Year, but this time, I just want to list down my "More and Less" goals/plans (plus comments) for the 2006:

MORES
  • study more

(#1 goal... seryoso. Kailangan ko na talagang mag bagong buhay!!)

  • gimik more

(Hehehe... I've never been that person who goes out a lot. But hey, I'm turning 20! And let's just say people I've met in the last quarter of the year have so much influence in this goal. LOL.)

(Follow-up goal: convince parents more!)

  • sleep more

(Dark circles under my eyes are getting biiggggeerrr! Ick.)

  • pray more

(I deeply regret the fact that I often was not able to make time for God. This year, I want to strengthen my personal relationship with Him.)

  • drive more

(Although by driving more, I increase my chance of colliding with other vehicles again, it would also give me the practice that I need so that my parents would trust me enough to use the car even when I'm not bringing it to school. Hehehe.)

LESSES

  • eat less

(Gotta lose some weight! My face is getting plumper, my fingers stubbier, my stomach, my thighs and my arms bigger. Pano na ko makakapagsuot ng bikini sa Pilipinas nyan?)

  • cram less

(Should come with the 'study more' package! Need to remove procrastination out of my system...)

If something else comes up, I'll add it to the list.

Aaaah... I can hear the sound of 2005 saying 'Good-bye' and 2006 entering: lots of POPS! and BANGS! Loud ones, mind you. We might end up having a broken window again.

Again, a Happy New Year to all! May you have a great year ahead of you, and may the Lord shower you and your family with many blessings this coming year.

And of course, I hope you stil have your 10 fingers intact to start the year.

[27 December 2005] Merry Christmas to me!

Guess what I bought as a Christmas present for myself? Lilac hi-cut Chuck Taylors!!! Merry Christmas to me! My mom was trying to convince me not to buy them since I had so many rubber shoes na raw, but I really wanted a pair (thanks to the influence of Sabby - with red Chucks- and Jonathan - with blue-green Chucks). So I told my mom that I'll use my Christmas money to buy the shoes. Yieeeee!!!!

Wow, my 50th post!

[14 December 2005] CPH choir wins Carol Fest 2005!!!
Congratulations to the College of Public Health choir for winning FIRST PLACE in this year's Carol Fest!!!!

Carol Fest is an inter-college choir competition in UP Manila (inter-organization in UP Diliman, I believe), held every December as part of UPM's Christmas celebration. Last year, our college's choir was last (but take note, nobody from this year's choir was part of that choir). Bleh.

Sopranos: Reg, Kris, Zai, Gazelle, Tricia (yours truly)
Altos: Sharon, Tal, Julie, Det, Amelie, Francine, Dr. Bertuso, Prof. Ramos, Ms. Florentino
Tenors: Kalvin, Gelo, Jeff
Basses: Heinz, Mark, Eric

We sang "Do You Hear What I Hear" for our choice piece and "Simbang Gabi" for the contest piece.

OMG, seriously, I still can't believe we won! I mean, sure, we had our good practices, but we, in the choir, know how much horrible and terrible ones we also had. I wish I've seen the last 2 performances. It was also a good thing that the program started late. Kris' brother, Kuya Ivan, was our pianist, but he was still coming from Diliman before the contest. And our problem was that we were not able to practice with him yet, so even if he came just on time for our turn, we were not sure how it's going to turn out. But Kuya Ivan is an excellent sight reader! Got shocked and awed when he first came to one of our practices, just browsed through the piece, then voila! Instant Simbang Gabi. So, we just had to trust him, and I sure am glad that we did . Thank you, Kuya Ivan!!!

Amazing, really. We just had a week to learn the pieces, memorize the notes, the lyrics and the dynamics by mind and by heart. We even had a conflict with some of our batchmates because while we we practicing every afternoon after class, we left them working on our lantern for the Lantern Parade. Guys, we're really sorry... but hey, we won! And now, we're ready to help with the lantern, full-time .

It's just too bad I wasn't there to rejoice with the rest of the choir who witnessed the announcement of winners. Sharon, Heinz and I left as soon as the College of Nursing choir finished their turn. The three of us, plus Gen and Lady, still had to prepare for our concert, held also last night, and had to go to Philam Life Auditorium as soon as possible. While Sir Nikos was saying something serious, Cristal called and told me the news, and I was restraining myself from screaming. I kind of jumped with excitement and let out a short squeal, which earned me a menacing look from Sir Nikos. LOL.

Congratulations again to our choir!!! .

[08 December 2005] Stupid
Why do I even bother hope? It's so stupid of me to think that a short encounter would make him think that I'm the girl of his dreams.

And with such aggravating circumstance existing, we'll most probably stay just the way we are.

Surprisingly, I'm mulling over this realization with a heavy heart.

And why do I even bother try to reach out? It's so stupid of me to think that everything would go back to normal after a few days.
