[07 June 2005] Home
The title just said it... I am home. We arrived June 1, Wednesday last week, in the Philippines. Sinalubong ako ni Theo, my younger brother... and I cried. Hahaha. FYI, tuwing nagtetext sila sa'kin, everytime they tell me na namimiss nila ako, na umuwi na raw ako... naluluha ako. Hehehe. What? We're close, I love my family, so sue me. When I got in the car, I saw my mom. Naiyak uli ako. Hahaha.

And what a way to spend my first day home after our Euro trip... ang saya-saya: NAG-ENROL AKO. We just brought my bags home, I got my Medical Certificate, then my mom brought me to UP. Ayun, mabilis naman, natapos ako before 4:30 pm. Di rin naman ako excited mag-aral, noh? Yuck, hehe. It turns out, ang swerte ko pala at naka-enrol na ko kasi sina Sharon, Heinz at Tal eh na-move ng na-move yung pag-eenrol nila.

My kuya picked me up, and yes... I did cry again.

In the evening, we decided to eat at Gerry's Grill, my request (Wohoo!!! Sisig at Inihaw na Pusit!!!!), so my dad picked us up. When we were approaching the car, my dad got out, kahit ba papunta na rin kami dun, then he hugged me. Aaaaaaw... I cried, for the 4th time.

I am home, and I am happy, but at the same time, sad. I miss Europe. BADLY.

Haven't blogged about Europe yet, so why don't I start now? Pero dahil mahaba-haba din yung ike-kwento ko, isa-isa muna.

FRANKFURT
The Terminal, starring the UP Manila Chorale. O diba? What a way to start the tour, nag-overnight kami sa Frankfurt airport. 2 reasons: 1) We weren't expected in Bad Ischl til the 28th, we arrived in Frankfurt on the 27th. We had the choice of going to Bad Ischl earlier and pay for our extra stay in the hostel we stayed in or wait til the 28th in the airport for free. Hindi naman sa kuripot kami... purita lang... hehehe, kaya sa airport na lang; and 2) Someone got left behind in the Phils., a minor, and he forgot his DSWD clearance. Ang galing. Hehehe.

It has 2 terminals, I think, and we ride a train to get to the other terminal. After a few hours upon arrival, we settled down in a big waiting area. Tapos, ayun, explore explore! After a few more hours, halos kabisado na namin yung airport. Hehe... well, mejo lang naman. Alam na namin kung saan yung free internet, food court, money changer, McDo, and super clean WC (trans: CR). In the afternoon, Greggy, Sharon, Heinz, Cristal and I went outside of the airport. And that's when the cold hit me. From one terminal to another, WITHOUT riding the train, AT sa LABAS ng airport. Ang linis linis. At ang ganda ng flowers! I remember... dun ang aking unang picture sa Europe gamit ang aking new phone... but those pictures... are all... GONE. Next time na ang kwento.

We decided to eat when we get back. Cup noodles! Yakisoba! Magbaon daw kasi kami eh, kaya ayun. We got hot water from the WC... yes, their water is potable. Amazing. After that, nag-ikot uli sa airport, lumabas, nagpahinga, then natulog na rin. I had a hard time sleeping. First of all, ang ingay, may ginagawa malapit sa'min. Then, I almost had nowhere to sleep on. Almost all seats, tables... were occupado. Buti na lang meron pa akong naupuan. Pero di din ako nakatulog, coz everyone else was sleeping, I had to watch the bags.

Then, we woke up early for our train to Bad Ischl. Lovely train station. There was this bread store there, binigyan kami ng may-ari ng libreng pretzels, hehehe. We sang Wind Beneath My Wings (ang kantang di naman kinanta sa tour... hehehe... DOH!) for him, and it was not just him who appreciated our song. Aaaw.

The train to Bad Ischl was fun. Minette and I became one of the boys, pero sa Rome lang kami naging Mindo at Patrick. Hehehe. We played Pusoy Dos, Jake being the unbeatable one... sa train nga lang. Hehehe. Hehehe! The rest of the train ride, we were either eating, just talking, sleeping, or staring in awe outside our window. Ang ganda, grabe.

And then, we arrived in Bad Ischl. Next blog. Stay tuned.

First lesson learned: When they said pack light, they meant it. Really. PACK LIGHT. Especially when you're traveling by train. Seriously.

I was supposed to write about the Chorale and our presentation during the Freshmen Orientation in Philam Auditorium this morning. Napunta bigla sa Europe tour. Hehehe. Oh well, Chorale pa din naman yun!

Anyway, I was not supposed to sing today for 2 reasons again: 1) I do not have my costume. It's in my lola's house; and 2) Our upperclassmen/women told us that the professor in Microbiology gives a lecture already on the first day. Ayokong mag-absent, dahil natuto na ko from Chem 31... na hindi ko naintindihan yung mga lessons sa later part ng sem dahil di ko na na-aattendan yung umpisa ng class because of early Chorale gigs. At ngayong majors na, I don't want that to happen again. Mahirap na, I promised my mom I'd get a high GWA this semester.

But I did sing anyway, and luckily, we didn't have classes. Nung umaga, nagbigay lang ng syllabus, nung hapon, ginamit kasi for orientation yung room (auditorium, acutally) namin. Pano ako napakanta? I was in a bad mood nung rehearsal kagabi, hindi ako mapilit. Pero, sa mga ka-PH ko na nanggaling...

They mouthed, "Please... last na toh."

Kaya ayun, kanta. At nag-enjoy naman ako. Of course, I love singing. At sobrang puno yung Philam. Great opportunity for recruitment of trainees. OUR trainees.

But after that... lipat na uli sa BS Public Health. Dun ko rin naranasang hindi matulog for more than 30 hours.

Kaya ngayong nasa PH proper na kami, it's lying low for me... for us, actually. Araw-araw, it's either 8-4 or 8-5 ang class ko, with a 12-1 break. And according to the 4th year students, every week, minsan pa, araw-araw, may exam. In short, makaka-attend pa kaya ako?

Hopefully. Dahil mahal ko ang pagkanta. Mahal ko ang Chorale.

At ang haba haba na nitong entry na toh, I still have minutes to do.

COMING SOON: Bad Ischl!
