[02 August 2005] Infected!
I think I've been infected by Streptococcus pyogenes .

I just took the last tablet of antibiotic I've been taking since Sunday... that's 500 mg of Zithromax. It's for the very soar throat and terribly aching ear I've been having since Saturday . Anyway, I read the literature inside the box and found out that Azithromycin (weee... we studied this in Microbiology, although we didn't get much info from our prof...) is the generic name of Zithromax. I read that it's used to eradicate streptococci from the oropharynx. So I'm assuming I've been infected by the bacteria.

Believe me... Microbiology (and other subjects as well) changed the way I view things. One thing, it has made me super praning!

Anyway, I've been having a very very bad headache since yesterday. It hurt so bad that I cried and I had to sleep the pain away... that I wasn't able to finish studying yesterday! And I had an exam this morning (in Microbiology)!

My friends noticed that I was pale this morning... and then by lunch, I noticed lots of small dots all over my arm! I told my mom right away because I also had red spots on the ventral side of my upper body this morning (the effect of Zoology 102...), which I showed to her. So she picked me up from school and brought me to the doctor.

The doc said that I might be allergic to the antibiotic, so she told me to take some anti-allergant. And, finally...! My nose problem has been given a name, at least for the meantime! She said that if my cold (which has been there since Grade 6, geez...) stops after finishing the anti-allergant treatment, it must be allergic rhinitis. If not, then it's chronic.

Anyway... that's my infection story. I have no idea where I may have gotten it. Bleh.
